Alas! The ten day fun filled learning camp has come to an end. Every day was like a new lesson. Basically the camp taught us to celebrate life and live life by Learning in Full Enjoyment. The main emphasis was on learn-teach-love-share-care, the main principles of Shiksha. Waking up early and getting ready as soon as one wakes up was made a practice every day. Everyday students woke up early and got ready and used to write a report of the previous day, basically they used to summarise the previous day in the form of a report. They were made to read out the report, correct them and learn from the mistakes they make. This report writing is what helps them in improving their language. Chachu used to spend a good amount of time listening to everyone's report and used to correct them and by the tenth day, one could see a drastic improvement in their report writing ability. After the report, almost every day we were taught many good slokas, poems, songs which were very meaningful. Chachu used to explain each and every word in different contexts. This exercise helped us to inculcate the habit of analysing the poems, songs and to concentrate on words and their meanings, so that one could appreciate them. There were many activities like drama - which brought out their creativity, ideas and acting skills; countries & capitals - which taught them the importance of the group learning by a demonstration that when one learns in a group, he/she could learn at a faster rate; singing & dancing - which boosted their confidence and removed their stage fear; Manorama yearbook reading - this taught them how to approach a new topic and learn; Note taking & Not making - taught them how to systematically take and make notes, so that it will be easy for referring at a later point of time; and many more activities which I won't be able to list out due to space constraint. There were many guests who came to interact with students and everyone got an opportunity to learn about their profession by asking them various questions. Asking questions was one other important habit which Chachu inculcated among everyone of us in the camp. Every exercise which Chachu gave has a benefit to be derived from in future. The camp days were filled with learning something worth every moment, having fun with everyone, not wasting time by sleeping or laziness, eating good food and interacting. I would say everyone will see a change in themselves after this camp, may be if not immediate, there will surely be a change gradually. For me, this camp taught me much about myself - my fear, my apprehension. It taught me to overcome the fear of speaking and expressing, I have seen a lot of change in me, a positive one, which I would surely carry forward. I learnt that everyone is unique and different and if you celebrate your uniqueness, the world will too. It believes exactly what you tell it - through the words you use to describe yourself, the actions you take care for yourself, and the choices you make to express yourself. TELL THE WORLD THAT YOU ARE ONE-OF-A-KIND CREATION WHO CAME HERE TO EXPERIENCE WONDER AND SPREAD JOY. Thanks to you Chachu, the greatest mentor I have ever seen, whose one interaction has changed my life forever. A positive change which made me worth what I am today and I am hopeful that your mentoring will give me many more successes in life ahead. Every time I pray God only to thank him for giving me such a wonderful Guru and ask him to make me be your student and your child for lifetime.

JN1652 camp: Day-2 Review:

The day started with the peer group evaluation activity, which helped everyone to understand their strengths and weaknesses according to their peers. This activity ended with Chachu teaching each of us how to overcome our weaknesses and to become smart.

Group Learning Activity: To promote the group learning and discussions, students were made into six groups of three members each. Each group was given an yearbook and were asked to choose a topic of their choice and to prepare in a group in order to present it. During their preparation Chachu went to each group and explained them about the topic they have chosen in clarity so that this helps them to get an introduction of what they are learning.

Career Plan Assignment:
Students were then given an assignment to write their career plan till 2050 and this presentation would be done in a more dramatic way in order to make it interesting. Also, while making the career/life plan, they were given instructions to identify their specific course, where they want to do, why that place, after the course where they would be working etc. Will post a sample of this presentation once the actual presentation will be done. The benefit of this activity is students will be able to identify their interests and Chachu will be helping them by providing which are the best institutes and what to take and where to join in order to achieve their goals etc.

Trekking to Palakayamthattu: The camp doesn't just have mental exercises, but there are also the physical exercises. We went on a surprise trek to Palakayamthattu. It was a beautiful experience where we started in three jeeps and reached a beautiful ridge from where looking at the beauty the love for the nature has quadrupled. Chachu taught us photography - angles, optical illusion etc. Overall, we had a great time which could be seen looking at those smiling faces in the pics.

After trekking we were all ready for a open shower.. Played in water which made us recollect those days when we drenched in rain and played till we were tired..

The day ended with some lessons which we are ought to learn in life -- obeying when a master says, responding to people, being audible while speaking, quest for knowledge happens only with questions, improving our communication skills and many more. Also, Chachu's cousin Ramdas uncle sang beautiful melody numbers in various languages like Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Oriya, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam etc., to add a finishing touch to our day.. 😊😊

Overall, the second day in the camp was very fruitful with many lessons learnt.. Thanks to our Guruji who teaches us round the clock through many interactions, activities, games etc..

Overall, the second day in the camp was very fruitful with many lessons learnt.. Thanks to our Guruji who teaches us round the clock through many interactions, activities, games etc..

Interactions with the Great Guru:
Our day started with interactions. Everyone had many queries about the future, setting and achieving goals etc.. Chachu explained all these by sharing his own experiences.. Through this we also learnt how the computer science was in 1980's to 2000 and how it evolved over years, about various types of storage devices, how Military people were trained by Chachu for identifying the strategic places on the maps and about the innovations Chachu had done in his office, which actually inspired even us to follow his footsteps.
Meeting an Oncologist:
After the yummy breakfast of idiappam, we had Chachu's nephew Dr Sajith as a special guest. Interactions with him have helped us gain more knowledge about various types of cancers, the treatments, symptoms, causes etc. Derived good amount of knowledge from him by asking various questions to him: Quest for knowledge, which Chachu has taught us.
Arts and Crafts:
Chachu showed us how simple it is to do arts and crafts. He taught us how to make a Christmas tree, paper bags, how to draw a tree using waste paper and leaves, the rules for making a caricature, how creative one could be in writing their signature, how easy it is to draw Kerala, trees, sceneries to list a few. Never thought arts and crafts were so easy.
Getting ready for Jahnavi's birthday:
It was the birthday of Jahnavi, Dr Sajith's daughter for which Chachu had a lot of brilliant ideas in order to surprise her. He taught us to make a greeting card in a creative way, he made a princess cap with all flowers decorated, he made us blow balloons and put them on to a structure made out of coconut leaves, he made us make a video combining all her childhood pics and videos in order to surprise her by displaying it over a projector. This exercise helped us to know how creative one could become and make others feel special just by using small resources available around us.
Interactions with the guests from Dubai:
We had visitors who came to meet Chachu. This person was an Ekalavya student of Chachu as he met him for the first time yesterday and knew him by watching more than 500 videos of his on YouTube. This helped us understand how dedicated people will be.
Theyyam Experience:
Chachu took us to experience 'Theyyam' - the local tribal festival. For most of the students it was a new experience as they started looking at the costumes, culture, rituals with awe and were learning. It was like having and a dialogue with the God, where the Theyyam speaks to us about us. It was a different experience altogether for everyone.
Jahnavi's Birthday Celebrations:
Had a good time with Jahnavi's family during the celebrations. They were thrilled at our surprises. Enjoyed bonding with new people and this taught us that making friends is an easy task.
Meditation:
In the evening we were made to do meditation by Chachu, which was very relaxing. The first quality for meditation is being in silence. Being silent is the test one has to undergo in order to learn Meditation. Though we didn't pass the test perfectly, Chachu made us do meditation in order not to disappoint us.
Experience Sharing:
Chachu taught what the qualities and attitude of a learner should be, by describing us his own life events. He told us the love which his gurus have shown him, the trust which they had in him, the respect and obedience which he demonstrated and the most important thing is to follow the instructions carefully.
Studying Videos:
Chachu played many educational videos in order to teach us that we shouldn't be seeing or watching the TV programs or videos, but we must study them and must be able to write a good report of the same. This will improve our understanding capacity, analysing capacity, concentration power and language ability. Chachu taught us doing this by practically showing us how to do it.
Overall, it was an excellent day with loads of new things to learn. We went back to bed feeling happy that we are investing our time well.

Very well described about the camp. Makes us feel, as if we are experiencing it. Wow😀Looks like I am missing a lotBut your updates are keeping us posted -- -- Nisha Anil

Date:26-05-2016Place:Naduvil, KeralaNamaste, Our morning started with the first Slokha of Bhagavad Gita " dharma kshtre..." and the statement from Guru's book life made simple- "grow like a tree & flow like a river " , how to treat people, how important mother is in one's life.
Guru taught us about Yoga Sastra, the various levels of yoga sastra I.e, Yana-non violence, niyama-self discipline, a asana-physical exercise,pranayama-breath control ,prathyaahaara-control your indriyas,dhaarana-concentration,Shyama-do it in full devotion,samadhi-meditation.
Later, we had a discussion on some of the great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Vivekananada , Rama Krishna Paramhamsa. Guru taught us an interesting and innovative method of learning history through mathematics I.e, using time line from BC and AD on the left and right side of the number line respectively , write the important years and take note of important points on the number line.
Everyday Guru tells us about 1 interesting website , today it's integralbooks.com
Post lunch , Sir taught us an experiment which is about 3 empty jars , few baby jelly stones 2 balls , few bigger stones assumed to be jar our life , baby jelly stones to be our best pass time habits, bigger stones to be our hobbies and balls to be our responsibilities, Guru illustrated the experiment by showing us how we need to prioritize different things in life by filling the jar first with balls then with stones and then with baby jelly stones, this was a great learning for all of us and we learnt how important it is to prioritize things in life later we were given a game to play in which each of us are given 5 small paper pieces and are supposed to exchange them with other players based on estimating either odd or even no. Of pieces in their fist, later Sana was made bottle theyyem, it's actually an assignment for us to think about best possible ways to solve a problem and how to improve our common sense and presence of mind.
In the evening we were given an activity to write a Malayalam poem , translate it to Telugu ,English and vice versa, it was great fun doing this exercise as we could learn at least few words of Malayalam.
Then we took a break and had parupu vada and tea for snacks. Our day ended with watching airlift movie , in the middle of which Durga Anusha found a snake in the ground floor , Sir rushed to place hit it with a wooden log put it in a bucket and threw it out of the house, later he lit cardboard with kerosene and cut banana branches so as to prevent any other snakes coming into the house, this made me realise how important it is to be responsive and courageous in panic situations with out just getting scared and freaking out.
Our day ended with discussing with Guru about various things, snake cuisines and Slokhas. It was yet another interesting day filled with some great learnings , insights , adventures. Pranathi,Hyderabad.

Had an awesome day with you at jnaanam guruji..... I have never thought of the story behind a single rice..I always used to waste food and now I assure that I will not do it anymore.... And the story of ramayana!!!! It was a new knowledge about ekaslokas.... From my school we use to chant that sloka brahmarpanam but only now I came to now about the real meaning and the greatness of that sloka..... Thank you for removing the darkness of 'ajnaanam' from my eyes.....Aswati - student visitedEarlier JNAANAM Camp Participant

Good afternoon The above picture we might think that it is a printed note but sorry to say it is a handwritten note of Prof. T.P.SHREEDHARAN Sir .He is elder brother of our Dr DR.T.P.SASIKUMAR SIR A teacher is a person who enlighten his students with his knowledge . A person can become a good teacher only when he is continuously learning. Teaching is dedication which we can see in Sir's note. He had Referred not just one book but several others to make a complete script .
The hand writing is absolutely like a computer print I doubt even computer might not have such a fabulous font at those time .

I could see a real teacher in him when he gave me the manuscript for reference.
I didn't want to miss the chance of learning from him and the notes soo I took copy of the entire script .
Thanku sir thanku soo much

hello, just dropped in to say i had a great time meeting you all, thanks for being a sport, and hope you all had a good time! - Hari

Thank you sir for yet another enlightening camp. Got to know about the discussions from my kid. She enjoyed a lot when compared to the previous camp. Hope she is learning to take responsibilities too through these camps, as she has to stay alone in US. Since night even till now she was explaining me about all the activities of the camp. I could see the happiness and excitement in her voice. I am happy sir. Though I give her everything she wants, still there is some vacuum in her which gets filled when she is in your company. Thank you for making her happy and through her making me happy. I booked flight tickets from hyd to Aurangabad and return. She will travel with you in train. Looking forward to meet you. Take care sir.

Steve Jobs once said -- Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks. But of course, if you dig deeper, it's not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.
Through the Jnaanam Camp, one learns to design their LIFE to make the best out of it..Mentoring is all about a brain to pick, an ear to listen and push in the right direction.. You get all these from Dr T P Sasikumar, where he picks what our weaknesses are, he listens to our problems and guides us in a right direction to make us reach our Pinnacle... Everyone says that the time flies and we lag behind always..
But he makes us that Pilot to control and fly our time... - Durga Anusha, Infosys

Sir The degree of change after my camp is markable and my frnds have asked me the reason for my active and enthusiastic change over .My teachers r happy and Pappa more over is very very pleasant .And I realized what u said to me that day ' that my best company is my father rather than mom ' though that day I could not admit that because I didn't have a capacity to do that .U r always right sir love u soo much - SANA, Kannur

An impeccable teacher Sasimaama, a mentor in the making Anusha, eager Arun, funny Asad, illustrious Iswarya, hardworking Rejath, intelligent Vishnu, Anusha Thatta, Karunakarettan, Pappettan, Balakrishnan Sir, Sreedharan Sir, Ramdasettan, Ananthan Sir, Shanta teacher, Radha teacher, Mohammed ikka, Zeenath Umma, Kunjambu Vaidyar - This camp was filled with unforgettable experiences and people. I learned to grow and grow to learn. Even as we did not realise, each passing day made us change bit by bit. Each day was different and memorable in its own right. The scoldings and the love showered on us afterwards, the learnings, the beauty of Naduvil.... DIL MAANGE MORE!!! 😃😃😃
I forgot to mention the experience of the half day 'Mauna Vrata'... I would recommend it for anybody, who wants some peace of mind. You are welcome to extend it as long as you want. But as Sasimaama told me, don't misuse it while in anger. And don't forget your notepad and pen. 😂😂😂

SREEDEVI

Being a part of the camp was a very pleasant experience for me. Thanks to you Maamaa for explaining the unexplained. It was a great oppurtunity to learn from Maamaa, not just academics but life as a whole too. Thank you Maamaa and Anusha chechi for always being there to help, guide and support me. Rejath, Arun, Asad, Vishnu, Farzana, Karthik, Anusha chechi(Thatta), though a small team was really good. Each of them being unique. Anusha chechi has been our inspiration all throughout the camp not just for academics but for discipline too. Creativity, vocabulary, communication skills, history, geography, anything to everything and Maamaa always had a logical and precise answer. Anandhan master, Ramdas ettan, Pappettan, Karunakaran Uncle Sreedharan Uncle, Radha teacher, Shantha teacher, Muhammed ikka, Karthyechi, Zeenath aunty( Farzana's mom) have all added their own unique essence to the camp. On the whole it was an amazing experience

ISWARIYA

We don't have words to express our gratitude to Sir as he has not only taught our 3 children but also took charge of them right from our home and brought them back despite his busy schedule. Thank you very much Sir.

F/O. VISHNU

Hope everyone had a great learning time during this camp... I thank Chachu from bottom of my heart for conducting such camps and trying to shape everyone's thoughts and for clearing all our queries about various career options we are looking at. As always I am leaving this time too with a lot many memories added to my pages of life and taking back a lot of learnings from Chachu.. Thank you Chachu for taking care of each one of us as ur own kids and always striving to make us better... Had a great time with each of you.. Hope to see you soon... Thank you Sreedevi and Ishwarya for accompanying me to the airport and also for the good discussions.. Seen a lot of improvement in Vishnu, Rejith, Arun and Asad... Lot to learn from Rejith in terms of dedicating all the time in a day for studies... Had a good time and learnings from each of you too... A visit to Anandan Master (Chachu's Science teacher) was the best part of this camp, which taught me how one should never forget their teachers even after reaching the pinnacle of their career, and the enthusiasm with which he showed us his models and explained various science principles itself taught me a lesson that passion will make one use his/her time constructively.. Chachu's idea of implementing the pulley principle that we learnt during our school days to lift a person easily, gave me a new definition for creativity. There were discussions on how to be creative, implementation of Mathematics, Dasamahavidya, astrology, geography, civil engineering, construction management, production, supply chain, newspaper reading, report writing, hand-writing improvement, importance of patience, discipline, current affairs to name a few. The knowledge that I get from these camps is incomparable even to any of the prestigious colleges in the world like MIT or Harvard.. Thanks to you Chachu for giving me yet another opportunity to learn from you and to shape my career path...

VERSION 3.0- Yes! MY THIRD JNAANAM CAMP
Jnaanam house at Naduvil is lit up bright day and night with Sir's wisdom. For any student, it is difficult to identify when the sun comes and goes. Only when the snow melts and falls drop by drop on the plantain leaves, we realize its time to start a new day of the voyage. Yes it is a trek through our mistakes, a voyage across our innocence, a pilgrimage of our own life, a feast of authentic food, and a treasure hunt of memories.

Going to JNAANAM, we carry with us, mountains of mistakes and innocence. Sir observes each one of us, and suggests and warns and teaches us how to climb over our mistakes and help us reach the top of success. In this context, I learnt two things from my TREK. #1 To be proactive at communicating, calling and confirming when we want to meet people. #2 Knowing the interests of people around us and acting accordingly.

We land up at Jnaanam with an ocean of questions in front of us. Sir pushes us from the shore of innocence and then teaches us how to sail through different subjects. This time, as a part if leaning VOYAGE, Sir taught us History, Maths, English, Science, Astrology, Photography, reading newspaper, poetry, different languages and kuology(The art of howling).

Meeting all the affectionate people of Naduvil, the warm and friendly meetings with Sir's relatives who come to see us, is like interacting with God among people and none less than a PILGRIMAGE.

How can we forget Mohmmed Uncle and his food that is cooked with care and delivered with love. Its tastier than any feast.

Finally JNAANAM camp is like a treasure hunt where each of us carry home with us large chests full of treasured memories. My heartfelt gratitude to Dr T P Sasi Kumar Sir and special thanks to Sridevi, Ishwarya, Anusha, Farsana Asad, Vishnu, Karthik, Arundev, Sana, Anushka, Zeenath aunty, Ramadas uncle, Sreedharan Sir and and Karthiya aunty and all Naduvil people who taught me important lessons of life.

Just one hash-tag is not enough to tag Jnaanam. So here goes the list #Camp out with a scholar
#Fun with new friends #Learn how to learn #Build a new YOU #Learn in full enjoyment #Dream more and achieve more.

One line takeaway: PUSH THE DOOR! NOT THE WALL.
